He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in 1963 and proudly served in the U.S. Army form 1966 to 1968 attaining the rank of sergeant. He found a new career in technology working at Computer Business Services and later became a computer repair and service instructor at Blackhawk Technical College. Bob thoroughly enjoyed his students and colleagues and was very involved with school activities. He was honored with many awards, including Teacher of the Year. After illness forced his retirement, he was able to continue his lifelong passion of following the Milwaukee Brewers in summer and the Green Bay Packers in winter.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Jerry Wollslair of Beloit, niece Amy (Jeff Mehne) Adams of Appleton, WI, nephew Dan (Jenny) Adams and great-nephews Lucas and Evan Adams, all of Franklin, WI.

Our deepest sympathy to you Dad and Lynn. I know you have many happy memories to carry you through this difficult time. We wish we could be there for you for support this weekend but are unable to. Please know that we will be there in spirit. Much love to you both!
- Brad and Kim RoehlI met Bob in 1995 when I took a job at Computer Business Services. He was initially intimidating with his stern demeanor, his technical brilliance, and his reserved bearing. But soon his remarkable humor came to the surface, and he and I became good friends. He and I next worked together when he joined Blackhawk Tech and he thrived as a teacher. It seemed he finally found the perfect spot for his intelligence, humor, and innate sense of service.
Whether it was dancing to The Reverend Al Green in the CST lab, talking baseball at the lunch table, or shooting the breeze at Mary Ellen or Sharon’s desk, Bob enjoyed his days more and more. I sensed a weight lifting from him.
After I moved from Beloit, Bob and I stayed in touch, mostly through email. We lamented not keeping in touch enough, and that feels very acute now. But to know that I can talk with Bob now, and share a laugh or a thought, and believe that spirit is with me, with all of us who knew him, is reassuring. And Bob was, in so many ways, so reassuring to so many of us throughout his life.
He gave of himself for so many of us. He clearly believed that was his calling. Thanks, my friend, for everything. I will miss you.

Bob, was my instructor at Blackhawk Tech. It was only for one semester, but Bob was one of the nicest people that I have ever met. He was a very good instructor and the class was saddened when he announced that it would be his last semester. He was such a giving person that I know he will be missed. My condolences to the family. Warren C. Allston, Jr., class of 2011, CST.
- Warren C. Allston, Jr.I was saddened to learn of Bob’s passing this morning this morning upon my return to the country. We had shared a good visit together just the week prior.
Bob and I worked together at Blackhawk Tech for many years until his health forced him to retire. Over the years I witnessed Bob’s positive impact on his students as well as his faculty peers.
I feel fortunate to have known Bob as a colleague and friend. His wisdom was sage and his sense of humor ever present. My life is richer as a result.
I’ll miss you buddy…

- Darrin RileyFamily and Friends of Bob,
I worked with Bob at Blackhawk Technical College for a number of years. When you look up the word gentleman in the dictionary there is definitely a picture of him. He was just that kind of guy…Everytime he would see me he would give me a big hug and a positive, reassuring word and smile.
I loved going by his classroom and sometimes just stopping in for a moment to watch “Bob in action” with his students. Always so patience and kind. I can see him sitting on the stool in his classroom as I close my eyes and try and remember his voice.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you…Bob is looking down and wrapping his arms all around you. Blessed rest my friend.
