Ruth Peterson
Janesville, WI
Ruth Peterson age 81 of Janesville died Sunday February 9, 2013 in her home. She was born March 5 1931 to the late Carl and Irene (Kahl) Paulson in Delavan, WI. She graduated from Delavan High School, class of 1949. Ruth married Leon E. “Bud”Peterson on September 7, 1952 in Delavan. He preceded her in death on January 18, 1999. She was a longtime member of Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church. Ruth worked at Neighbors Nursing Home in Clinton, the Clinton High School and Bergamot’s Brass Works in Delavan. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching and seasonal decorating. Ruth loved her family and cherished time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
She is survived by her three children, Phillip (Carol) Peterson of Beloit, Wendell Peterson of Janesville and Trudy (Mark) Swanson of Oregon, IL; eight grandchildren, Kaleena (Josh) Kirkpatrick, Courtney Peterson, Cory Peterson, Ross Peterson, Johnathan Swanson, Jason Swanson, Amanda (Brent) Robinson and Tawny Young; eleven great grandchildren, Sebastian, Savannah, Scarlett, Robert, Julieanna, Justin, Dominic, Malakye, Kwavion, James Brayden & Ahryanna and her brother, Robert Paulson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon, her brother, Jack Paulson, his sister, Marion (George) Johnson and her grandson, Justin.
Ruth’s Memorial Service 11:00 a.m. on Friday February 15, 2013 at JEFFERSON PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 23184 Bergen Road, Poplar Grove, IL. with Pastor Thomas G. Groth officiating. Friends will be received Friday at Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will follow in the Jefferson Prairie Cemetery. A memorial is being established in her name. i live across the street from ruth,my 5 kids loved her,i have 3 with special needs and she was so great with them. my son cole who has austim adad ocd had a special bond with her,they where huggin buddy my son is a hugger and miss ruth loved when he come over and ask her 4 one. she is a great lady and will be missed dearly from my family. our mom was the nices sweetest lil lady i knew. no matter what the weather was like she was out walking doin her yard always making it so nice.god bless her
