Anna C. Rumery

Anna C. Rumery age 102, of Beloit died Saturday, July 13, 2019 in her home. She was born June 14, 1917 to the late Leopold and Rosella (Stolp) Jaschek in Westfield, WI. Anna married Marshall J. Rumery on August 24, 1935 in Rockford, IL. He preceded her in death on March 6, 2012. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church and active with the Lutheran Layman's League. Anna worked at Freeman Shoe Co. for 29 years, retiring in 1982, cherishing her quarter century status. She was a devoted grandmother and meticulously organized homemaker. Anna loved to host and open her home to family and friends. She will be remembered for her sense of humor and adventurous spirit.

She is survived by six grandchildren, Richard (Kathy) Rumery, Mark (Andrea) Rumery, Michele Rumery, Victoria Rumery, Julie (Steve) Dickerson and Kris (Randy) Zwart; ten great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, her daughter in law, Diane Rumery; her sister, Esther Harrison, her special friend, Annie Murphy and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marshall Rumery, her son, Vinton Rumery, two brothers, Marvin Jaschek & Donald Jaschek and two sisters, Grace Jordan & Edna Rylatt.

The family would like to thank the staff at Willowick of Clinton, Agrace Hospice, Beloit Regional Hospice, Dr. Kathleen Klepsis-Wick and Rev. Dennis Roser for the care they gave Anna.

Anna’s Rite of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at ST. JOHN’S LUTHERAN CHURCH, 1000 Bluff Street, Beloit with Rev. Dennis Roser officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday at Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Following Anna’s service, the cortege will proceed to Eastlawn Cemetery for interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Beloit Regional Hospice or Agrace Hospice. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
