Barbara Shipler-Stout Obituary

Barbara Mae Shipler-Stout died Wednesday October 9, 2019. She was born September 20, 1927 to the late Roy and Florence (Hendee) Tuttle in Winnebago Co. IL. Barbara grew up outside of Beloit on a farm on Manchester Road where she was guided and deeply loved by her parents. She graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1945. Barbara married Cecil Shipler on June 1, 1946. She was a wonderful homemaker and  worked at the Beloit Corp Guest House and at J.C. Penney’s.

They had 5 children, Roy (Diane) Shipler: Ft Atkinson, WI; Cheri (Murray) Hickman: Las Vegas, NV, Gary (Jan) Shipler: Beloit, WI; Sally (Eldon) Isely: Plymouth, WI; Steve (Velma)  Shipler: Montello, WI.

She is survived by her sister, Alice Richards; her two brothers, Ralph (Edna) Tuttle and Raymond (Alice) Tuttle; 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  her husband, Cecil Shipler, her brother Alvin (Dorothy) Tuttle, her grandson Mitch C.C. Burton, her husband Gordon Stout, her sister, Ruby Gregus and her son, Gary Shipler.

The family wants to thank Sun Valley North, Beloit Hospital and Beloit Clinic for helping to care for our mother for the last few years. Also a thank you to Agrace for being here for Barb as needed.

Barbara’s Funeral Service will be 12 Noon on Monday, October 14, 2019  in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway. Friends will be received on Monday in the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will follow the service at Floral Lawns Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
