Benjamin Lewis Griswold, 97, passed away, Saturday October 20, 2018 at Country Terrace Assisted Living in Minocqua, WI. He was born in DeKalb, IL on November 7th, 1920, the son of Bert and Esther (Hoyt) Griswold. Ben graduated from DeKalb High School, class of 1938. He enlisted into the U.S. Army on September 14, 1942 and served his Country until his honorable discharge on September 14, 1943. Ben was a long time member of Atonement Lutheran Church in Beloit, WI., before moving to be near his daughter in Mercer, WI. Ben was employed by Fairbanks Morse until his retirement. He enjoyed traveling, bird watching, gardening and spending time with family.
Ben was preceded in death by his wonderful wife, Bessie, in 1993, having celebrated 50 years of marriage. Also, preceding him in death were his brother, Earle, and sisters, Dorothy, Ruth, and Betty Lou.
He is survived by his daughter, Teri (Michael) Farina; his grandchildren: Brent (Gina) Farina, Ryan Farina, and Mark Farina and his great-grandchildren: Erin, Aidan and Jackson.

Ben's Graveside service will be 12 Noon on Friday October 26, 2018 in the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb, IL with Rev. Janet H. Hunt officiating. Full Military Burial Rites will be accorded. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
