Edna Oberst Obituary

Edna Oberst Beloit Edna Oberst age 97, of Beloit died, Monday October 10, 2011 at Premier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Facility in Beloit. She was born February 25, 1914 the daughter of Gilbert and Alice (Irish) Gilbertson in Beloit. She married Bernhardt "Ben" Oberst on October 16, 1937 in Emerald Grove, WI. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1991. Edna graduated from Walworth High School, class of 1932. She was well known as Grandma-O, as she cared for and babysat for many children in the area. Edna also was employed at Oaks manufacturing, Fairbanks Morse and owned and operated her own bait shop. She was a giving and caring mother and wife. Accommodating her family and friends always brought a smile to her face. She enjoyed time on the Wolf River with her husband Ben, cultivating her flower garden and the companionship of caring for her Poodle and Cat. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her two daughters Darlene (Harland) Klukas of Black River Falls and Dolores (Don) Wollslair of Shopiere, four grandchildren, Jeffery Klukas, Cynthia (Gerard) Cribben, Dawn Wollslair and Danita (Brad) Trewyn, and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Ben, a grandson Gregory Klukas, a grand daughter, Carmin Klukas, five brothers and a sister. Edna’s funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 15, 2011, in the SHOPIERE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 5328 East Church Street, Shopiere, WI with the Rev. Norm Starks officiating. Family will greet friends on Saturday at Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Following Edna’s service, the cortege will process to Shopiere Cemetery for interment.
