Elaine Yankee Obituary

Elaine H. Yankee, age 86, a life long Beloiter, died Monday January 14, 2019 in her home. She was born March 26, 1931 to the late Henry and Vi (Burdick) Buchberger in Clintonville, WI. Elaine graduated from Clintonville Memorial High School, Class of 1949.  She met Kurtis L. Yankee in High School and they married on June 2, 1950 in Milwaukee.  She was a 50+ year member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Beloit. Elaine & Kurt also operated a real estate rental business in Beloit for many years.  She was a superb homemaker and  enjoyed tending to her flower garden. Elaine cherished the many sporting events she attended for her two sons and her grandchildren. Later in life, she enjoyed visiting with her elderly friends.

She is survived by her two sons, Paul (Fran) Yankee and Brian (Teri) Yankee; three grandchildren and her two great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and four brothers.

The family would like to thank the staff at Lincolnshire Place, Transitions Hospice and especially Aaron Drog, Registered Nurse,  for their dedication and compassion.

Elaine's Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday January 19, 2019 in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Rev. Gene Van Galder officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday in the Funeral Home from 12 Noon until the time of service. Interment will take place in Eastlawn Cemetery.  Please share a memory or a condolence with the Yankee family on our website.
