George London Jr. Obituary

George E. "Big George" London age 90, died Wednesday August 29, 2018 at Willowick Assisted Living in Clinton. George was born March 20, 1928 to the late George and Genevieve (Jerome) London Sr. in Beloit. He graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1946. George married his High School sweetheart, Elaine Krebs on September 29, 1946 in Clinton, they were married 70 years before she died on October 25, 2016. He was a lifelong member of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church and served on the Church Council and was also past Council president. George was also a member of the Turtle Town Board and the Turtle Fire Dept. He farmed for most of his adult life and enjoyed his passion for horses. George worked for the Beloit Box Board Co., Durst Corporation and the DeLong Co. George also owned and operated his own Septic Business. He will be fondly remembered for his great sense of humor, his famous wave and his great ability to whistle.

He is survived by his son, Larry (Denise) London of Clinton; his three grandchildren, Todd (Cindy), Tawnya (Steve) Self and Travis (Kathy); seven great grandchildren, Lindsi, Tanner, Kasia and Jackson London and Jakob, Jasmyn and Jarrett Self; his sister, Donna (Carl) Rindfleisch; his sister in law, Dolores Aarud; cousins, nieces, nephews, God children and many good neighbors and friends in Clinton.

He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, his son, Terry London, his sister, Betty Westergaard, his brothers in law, Raymond Aarud and Gerald Westergaard and his niece, Carlene Rindfleisch.

The family would like to thank the staff at Willowick Assisted Living & Beloit Regional Hospice for the love, compassion and  care they gave George.

George's Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 5, 2018 in CHRIST Ev. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 300 High Street, Clinton with Rev. Andrew M. Harris officiating. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit and again on Wednesday at Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. All are welcome to join the family for luncheon and fellowship immediately following the service. Interment will follow the lunch in Eastlawn Cemetery in Beloit. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Christ Ev. Lutheran Church or Beloit Regional Hospice. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
