George A. Zarndt

George A. Zarndt age 85 of Poplar Grove, IL died Thursday October 18, 2018 at St. Anthony Hospital in Rockford. George was born May 12, 1933 to the late August and Augusta Zarndt in Chicago, IL. He was baptized and confirmed at the United Church of Christ in Bloomingdale. George graduated from Palatine High School, class of 1950. He enlisted into the U.S. Army and served until his honorable discharge. George married Carol A. Haberkamp on March 12, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle, IL. He was a life long dairy and crop farmer. George loved music, especially playing the accordion and saxophone.

George is survived by his wife, Carol; his son Richard; his sister-in-law, Sharon Haberkamp and his nephew, Loren Haberkamp.

He was predeceased by his parents, his infant son, John Henry, his brother-in-law, Howard and his in-laws, Wilbert & Gertrude Haberkamp.

George's Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at JEFFERSON PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 23184 Bergen Road, Poplar Grove, IL with Rev. Linda Winkelman officiating.  Friends will be received on Thursday in Church from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Prairie West Cemetery.
