Gladys Charland Obituary

Gladys Theda (Carpenter) Charland 97, of Beloit, WI passed away peacefully on Friday, September 14, 2018 at Alden Meadow Park Rehabilitation and Health Care, Clinton, WI.

Gladys was born May 9, 1921 in Lancaster, WI to William and Hazel Carpenter.  Gladys grew up in Jump River, WI.  After graduating high school she moved to Sandpoint, Idaho where she met John Charland.  They were married February 9, 1945 in Amarillo, Texas..  Later settling in Beloit which was their lifetime home.  Husband John, preceded her in death July 1976.

Gladys greatly loved her two grandsons, Chris and Jason Charland, and her four great grand children.  Much of her time was spent working in her flowers and her love of cats.

Gladys is survived by her son, Stuart (Julie) Charland of Janesville, WI; grandsons, Chris (Cheryl) Charland of Fort Atkinson, WI, Jason (Laura) Charland of East Troy, WI; great grand children, Alyssa and Megan Charland of Fort Atkinson, WI, Connor and Collin Charland of East Troy, WI; one sister, Lynn (Billie) Heath of Florance, OR; nieces; Dr. Terri Ward and Andra Heath of Washington and Oregon, Carolyn Thomas and Verna Yurick of Minnesota; nephews, Randy (Patti) Almond and Craig (Jeanine) Almond of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The family wishes to express much thanks to Dr. Elezi of Beloit Health System, the Beloit Regional Hospice Staff that aided Gladys and the staff of Alden Meadow Park.
