Jerry B. Callahan age 47, of Turtle Township died unexpectedly on Monday December 2, 2019 at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born August 24, 1972 to John "Jack" and Mary Lou (Gjere) Callahan in Beloit. Jerry retired from Scot Forge after working many years as a machinist. He was also a retired Lieutenant from the Turtle Township Fire Dept. Jerry enjoyed the outdoors, especially, hunting, fishing and camping. He loved all animals and enjoyed the companionship of his two cats, Snoopy & Midnight. Jerry's niece, Ronni shared "Jerry was the uncle everyone wanted, fun, funny, non judgmental, kind and always your friend. He would do anything for you and expect nothing in return." He will be remembered for the unconditional love he gave his nieces and nephews and the enduring nicknames he gave them all.
He is survived by his father, Jack Callahan; his sister, Jacki Kersting; his brother, John (Rhonda) Callahan; his five nieces and nephews, Becky (Justin) Fletcher, Craig Kersting, Jr., Ronni (Justin) Hill, Crystal Mahlum and Jason Kersting; his three aunts, Mary Ann Grebner, Donna Stowers, Vicki (Mark) Berryman; his special friend, Lori Bone and many cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his mother and his grandparents.
The family would like to thank the Turtle Township and Beloit Fire Dept and the Beloit Memorial Hospital ER staff for the care they gave Jerry.
Jerry's Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 9, 2019 in the BRIAN G. MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with David Meding officiating. Friends will be received on Monday in the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow the service at Floral Lawns Cemetery.
