Joan E. Beyer, of Clinton, WI, passed away on July 11, 2018. Joan was born on September 14, 1931, in Rockford, IL, daughter of Henning and Evelyn (Magnuson) Anderson. As a teenager, Joan was an avid Rockford Peaches fan. She ushered for Peaches home games and frequently accompanied the team on road trips to other cities. She married Elmer Beyer in Rockford on August 19, 1950. Joan moved from Rockford to Clinton in 1972 when Elmer and his brother Al became the owners of Clinton Certified Foods. Over the years Joan was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Rockford, Pella Lutheran Church in Clinton, and Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church in Clinton. Throughout her life Joan enjoyed traveling and family. There were numerous road trips with Elmer as they visited various parts of the United States and she could always be counted on to have her camera in hand at family gatherings. Hobbies included quilting, crafts, bowling and gardening.
She is survived by, husband Elmer and her twin brother John Anderson of Benbrook, TX: children, Bill (Bonnie) Beyer, Mark (Judy) Beyer, and Russell (Teri) Beyer: grandchildren, Carrie (Adam Zysk) Beyer, Tracy Beyer, Darcy (Matt Dohmeyer) Beyer, Kimberly (Dan) Schroeder, and Mike Beyer: great-grandchildren, Henry, Nathan, Kelcey, Brie, Avery, Aaron, and Adam: and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Joan was predeceased by her parents and sister Jeannie (Gene) Rogers. Special thanks to Beloit Hospice, along with volunteers, caregivers, and friends for the love, attention, and assistance they have given Joan over the past year.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on July 17, 2018 at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church, 23184 Bergen Road, Poplar Grove, Illinois with Rev. Linda Winkelman officiating. Visitation at 10:00 with services following at 11:00. Graveside services will follow the service in the Clinton cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beloit Regional Hospice or to the Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
