Arthur "Doug" Brock Obituary

Arthur "Doug" Brock, age 74 of Delavan, WI died Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Mercy Walworth Hospital. He was born November 11, 1947 to Richard and Beulah (Weaver) Brock in Sweetwater, TN. After moving to DeKalb, Doug married Candie Ann Paulson on July 12, 1969 in DeKalb. She preceded him in death on January 13, 2021. Together, they resided in the DeKalb county area until their retirement to Delavan, WI. Doug lived an active Christian life and considered a career in Ministry. He worked at Anaconda in Sycamore and then as a Maintenance Engineer at Kishwaukee Community Hospital for 18 years until his retirement in 2004. He served as a Union Steward and assisted in employee relations over the years. Doug earned his GED at Kishwaukee College and later his certification in self defense from the Defender Training Academy.

In his younger years, Doug enjoyed boxing, running and fast pitch softball. He also enjoyed riding and racing motocross. Doug loved a good fish fry, a long boat ride with Candie on Delavan Lake and caring for his dogs. In retirement, Doug excelled as a licensed fishing guide, bringing the joys of fishing and the outdoors to his many customers. Doug will be remembered for his generous heart and welcoming smile.

Doug is survived by his daughters, Tena (Michael) Callahan and Andrea (Angel) Gullon; his son, Michael (Mindy) Brock; his two sisters, Carol Cooley and Susie Brock; his brother in law, Robert (Theresa) Paulson; daughter in law, Shelley Brock; ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Candie, his son Jason Douglas Brock, his two sisters, Evelyn & Judy and his infant daughter, Lisa Marie Brock.

The family would like to thank entire staff at Mercy Walworth Hospital for the care and compassion they gave Doug.
