Arthur “Sonny” Gustav Herman Kehl age 93 of Janesville, WI, died September 22, 2025, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born July 17, 1932, to Arthur and Vivian (Steward) Kehl in Beloit, WI. In 1953, Sonny was enlisted in the US Army where he very proudly served as a Korean war vet until his honorable discharge in 1959. After his years served, he went on to marry the late Dorothy (Canfield) Kehl on December 31, 1978, in Janesville, WI. Together, they were active members of Grace Evangelical Free Church in Beloit, WI. Sonny loved his job as a master carpenter throughout his life. He built and managed Rockvale Mobile Homes in Janesville, WI, where he worked for over 25 years. He also loved the outdoors- enjoying woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping and traveling. Sonny was an avid Packers, Badgers, and Brewers fan and also loved to watch wrestling. He will be remembered for his jokes.

Sonny is survived by his four children, Arthur Kehl Jr., Cheryl (Chuck) Strader, Connie (Mike) Kehl-Poppy, and Amy Kehl-White, his step-children, Eugene (Alesia) Leach, Kurt (Dawn) Leach, Lynne Leach, Penny (George) Green, and Hope (Roger) Squires, his two sisters, Ramona LaBelle and Clarabelle Paulson, his former wife and mother of his children, Kay Pile, along with his numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Vivian, his wife, Dorothy Kehl, his daughter, Barb (Tony) Petruzielo, his grandson, Daniel Smith, and his two brothers-in-law, Richard LaBelle and Myron Paulson, and his former wife and mother of his children, Sally Kehl.

Sonny’s funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday September 29, 2025 at the Brian Mark Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Rev. Dennis Anderson officiating. Friends will be received Monday in the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Fond memories of expressions may be shared on our website.
