Barbara M. Gretschmann

Barbara Marilyn Gretschmann entered her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on July 15, 2023, surrounded by loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 29, 1933, to Ralph and Dora (Magill) Busjahn, she was the eldest of siblings, David, and Shirley. Barb married Duane on August 8, 1959, at People’s Church in Beloit. Barb and Duane were a true example of love and devotion. Barb was very involved in the church’s music program and radio broadcast and sang for many weddings and funerals.

Barb was employed as a secretary in Clinton School System from 1977 to 1997, was a Sunday School teacher for many years, and volunteered with Clinton Meals on Wheels.

Barb is survived by husband Duane; Children: Tim (Susana); Julie Krause; Karen (Todd) Hoffman; Tom (Kim); and Scott (Julie). She was predeceased by her parents, siblings, and son-in-law Mike.  Barb is survived by twelve grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Barb’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at Faith Community Church, 2931 Lucerne Drive, Janesville.  Friends and family will be received in Church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  Private burial will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank Beloit Health System for its care and support of Barbara. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
