Betty J. Furset

Betty J. Furset age 92 of Beloit died Wednesday June 28, 2023, at Beloit Senior Living. She was born November 27, 1930, to the late Frank and Violet (Johnson) Maxon in South Beloit, IL. Betty grew up in South Beloit and graduated from South Beloit High School, class of 1948. She married Clarence O. Furset on October 3, 1951, in South Beloit. Betty was a resourceful, handy and a superb homemaker. Betty volunteered at Beloit Memorial Hospital for 15 years. Betty and Clarence enjoyed snow birding to Texas and traveling in general.

She is survived by her husband of 71 years, Clarence Furset; her five children, Marcia (Robert) McLinn of Waupun, Julie Furset of Madison, Linda Spencer of Lakewood, CO, Jeff (Steph) Furset of Driggs, ID and Kathy Furset of Beloit; eleven grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; her sister, Florence (Donald) Porter of South Beloit; and one niece and one nephew.

Betty was predeceased by her parents, and her granddaughter, Regina Yuhas.

Betty’s Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday July 29, 2023, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Friends may greet the family on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.  A light lunch will follow the service in our Life Appreciation Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to Beloit Regional Hospice. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.  Betty’s service will be live streamed on our website.
