Brian K. Jensen

Brian Karl Jensen, age 64 died on Monday, December 7, 2020 at home in Poplar Grove, IL. He was born August 17, 1956 to Earl and Naomi (Brosted) Jensen in Oak Park, IL. Brian graduated from Palatine High School, class of 1974. He also graduated from Carpentry Trade school and spent his  30 year career as a Union Trade Carpenter. Brian married Melodie Gae (Morris) on July 27, 1999. He was a loving husband, wonderful father to Carly and Hailee and a proud grandfather. Brian treasured his special relationship with his grandson Kai. He was an avid Bears fan and loved getting together on game nights with friends. Brian enjoyed cooking, golfing and music, especially 70's rock. He was a founding member of the Thursday Night Bourbon Club and it's original "HR Manager." Friends and family knew him as a kind-hearted, genuine, caring soul. He never knew the word "No" when it came to helping others. Brian will be remembered for adding good cheer to any gathering he attended, his warm hugs and his "love ya man" farewell. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.

Brian is survived by his wife Melodie; his daughter Carly (Josh) May; step-daughter Hailee (Mike) Cox; grandchildren Kai Merkel, Kato and Kali Cox; brothers, Kirk (Karen), Scott (Karen), Howard (Rhonda) and Glen (Lisa); sisters, JoAnn Jensen, Joy (Jared) Skorburg and Jean (Leon) Rebodos; brother in laws, Clinton (Julie) Morris, Clayton (Julie) Morris and Clifton Morris; Brian is also survived by many  nieces and nephews, great friend David Lindenmayer and a large extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Naomi Jensen and dear friend Greg Carroll.

The Jensen  family would like to thank the staff at Northern Illinois Hospice for the compassionate care they provided to Brian.

Brian's private funeral service will be held at a later date. A Celebration of Life is being planned for Brian on August 14, 2021.  In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Please share a memory or a condolence with the family on our website.
