Bruce L. Hahn age 87, of Clinton, passed away Monday September 30, 2024 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee, WI. He was born August 31, 1937 to Elden and Arabella (Wolfram) Hahn in Beloit, WI. Bruce graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1955 and also studied at Milton College. He served in the National Guard before he married Carol Ann Leverson on May 21, 1966 at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church. Bruce & Carol have been faithful & active members at Jefferson Prairie since their marriage. He worked with his parents at Hahn’s Finer Foods until he established Hahn‘s Ace Hardware in Clinton in 1969 and owned and operated it until he sold it to Dan and Danette in 2002. He was a member of the American Legion Dary-Paulsen Post 440 & the Midwest Hardware Association. Bruce was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying fishing in Canada, hunting out west and deer camp. He was a proud Euchre champ and celebrated his 80th birthday by waterskiing on Lake Yawkey. Bruce was always found in attendance at his grandchildren’s high school and college sports, as well as, music and dance events. He will be remembered by supporting and helping family with home projects, for he “could fix anything” according to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Hahn; his daughter, Polly Franklin; his son Dan (Danette) Hahn; six grandchildren, Madeline Franklin, Valerie (Jimmy) Carter, Clayton (Fiancée, Kelly) Hahn, Natalie (Devin) Hahn, Delaney Hahn & Hannah Hahn.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Bruce’s Funeral Service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday October 5, 2024 at JEFFERSON PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 23184 Bergen Road, Poplar Grove, IL. Friends will be received on Friday at Church from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Saturday in Church from 12 Noon until the time of service. Following Bruce’s service, the cortege will proceed to Clinton Cemetery for Full Military Burial Rites and burial. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
