Carl H. Ramquist, Jr. age 87, of Beloit died Saturday August 12, 2023, in his home. He was born October 24, 1935, to Carl and Irene (Helser) Ramquist in Beloit, WI. Carl graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1953. He served in the U.S. Navy reserves. Carl married Sandra J. Kellor on May 3, 1981. He worked as an engineer & draftsman for 36 years at the Beloit Corp until his retirement in 1996. After his retirement, he became the custodian for St. Matthew’s school. He loved to drive, so he also drove for Northland Trucking. Carl was a longtime and active member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church and enjoyed singing in the Church Choir. He loved singing, especially in the Barbershop quartet, The Solitaires. Carl also enjoyed camping, fishing and the companionship of his dogs, Holly, Missy, and Ruby.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Ramquist; his four children, Carl (Lori) Ramquist III, Cynthia (Tim) Schultz, Corey (Nancy) Ramquist, Cheri Ramquist and step-daughter, Lori (Spencer) Butler; thirteen grandchildren, Ryan (Abby), Justin (Emily), Garrett (Caitlin), Ryan (Jen), Julie (Christian), Adam (Sarah), Nicholas (Liz), Adam (Sara), Roxanne, Jacqueline, Jessie, Tyler & Kimberly, fourteen great grandchildren, his brother, Claude (Lynn) Ramquist and his sister, Darlene Breden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his two brothers, Tex & Roy, and his daughter, Catherine, on December 23, 2021.

Carl’s Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday August 18, 2023, at St. Matthew’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 709 Milton Ave, Janesville, WI with Pastor James Janke officiating. Family and friends will be received on Thursday in the Brian Mark Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again on Friday in Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full Military Burial Rites and interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. in the Turtleville Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be directed to St. Matthews Lutheran Church. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
