Carol A. Hahn age 81, of Clinton, passed away Monday January 13, 2025 in her home surrounded by her family. She was born July 7, 1943 to Sigurd and Eileen (Bussey) Leverson in Beloit, WI. Carol graduated from South Beloit High School, class of 1961 and then completed Beauty School in Milwaukee, WI. She married Bruce Hahn on May 21, 1966 at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2024. Carol was a longtime, active & faithful member at Jefferson Prairie Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school and serving on the Altar Guild committee and church council.
She owned and operated Classic Coiffure in downtown Clinton for several years. She later dedicated many years at Meadow Park Nursing Home as their beautician. In 1969 she and Bruce opened Hahn’s Ace Hardware. For 5 years she owned and operated Scoops Ice Cream Shop. She was an exceptional homemaker, baker, cook and hosta enthusiast. She took great pride in hosting friends and family. Carol was always found in attendance at her grandchildren’s high school and college sports, as well as, music and dance events. She will be remembered for always supporting and loving her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Polly Franklin; her son Dan (Danette) Hahn; six grandchildren, Madeline Franklin, Valerie (Jimmy) Carter, Clayton (Fiancée, Kelly) Hahn, Natalie (Devin) Hahn, Delaney Hahn & Hannah Hahn; and her two sisters, Sandra Hall & Dorothy (Bill) Rice.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Carl Delaney & her husband.
Carol’s Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday January 17, 2025 at JEFFERSON PRAIRIE LUTHERAN CHURCH, 23184 Bergen Road, Poplar Grove, IL. Friends will be received on Friday at Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow in the Clinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
