Carolyn May Sapp age 91 of Beloit and formerly of West Chicago, IL died Sunday September 22, 2024 in her home. She was born May 15, 1933 to John and Genevieve (Schopen) Thornhill in Burlington, IL. Carolyn graduated from Hampshire High School, class of 1951. She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Parish and enjoyed singing with the choir both in Beloit and in Illinois. Carolyn worked at General Mills in West Chicago until her retirement. She loved playing games with family and was always stylishly dressed to the nines. Carolyn also enjoyed traveling, bowling, playing golf and pool. She will be remembered as an independent, loving, hard worker, qualities she instilled onto her family.
Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Pamela Halverson; her three grandchildren, Doug (Nicole) Jordi, Gen (Brad) Grosse & Shannon (Jonathan) Thalacker; two great grandchildren, Gage & Vaughn, sister Priscilla McChesney and brother John Thornhill.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her two sisters, Rosemary & Muriel and her brother, Gerald.

Carolyn's Mass of Christian Burial will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday October 3, 2024 in the Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church Chapel, 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, WI with Fr. Bart Timmerman officiating. Burial will be private. Memorials may be directed to OLA in her name. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
