David L. Hudson

David L. Hudson, age 71, of Beloit, passed away July 26th peacefully at home surrounded by family following a lengthy fight with cancer. Mr. Hudson was born in Peru, Indiana on September 15th, 1947 to his parents, Thelma Bunnell and John F. Hudson.

David is survived by his loving wife, Arlene M. Hudson, his 4 children: Mark Hudson and his wife Dianna of Madison, MS, Michele Swahn of Austin, TX, Dawn Sprigler and her husband Chris of Darien, WI and Debra Stafford and her husband Joe of Beloit, WI. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren: Nicole Paese and her husband Steven of Austin, TX, Mansul David Hudson of Jackson, MS, Zachary Hudson of Los Angeles, CA and Suzanne Hudson of Hattiesburg, MS. David was “Big G” to his 3 great-grandchildren: Hadyn, Beckham, and Avelyn Paese all of Austin, TX. Mr. Hudson was fortunate to see his family grow with the addition of the Sprigler and Stafford children in recent years.

Greeting David in Heaven are his parents, Thelma Donato and John Hudson, his best-friend Robert Dunaway, his in-laws, along with his grand and great grandparents, numerous aunts, uncles and friends.

The deceased grew up in Beloit, WI and attended Beloit Memorial High School. David studied HVAC and refrigeration and spent most of his career working as a maintenance engineer in the hospitality industry. He married his life partner of 52 years, Arlene on December 31st, 1966 in Peoria Illinois. Some of his happiest and proudest memories included the years his children marched in drum & bugle corps. Those who knew David best realized that there was little he enjoyed more than a hot cup of coffee, a cigarette, and a history book.

Visitation and Funeral will be at Brian Mark Funeral Home in Beloit, WI on Wednesday July 31, 2019. Visitation is from 12-2 p.m. and Funeral Service will be at 2 p.m. Interment immediately to follow at Eastlawn Cemetery.  As an alternative to flowers, memorials are welcome and appreciated in order to assist with final expenses.
