David Robert Kemnitz Obituary
David R. Kemnitz, 84, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, on April 7, 2026. He was born on March 5, 1942 to the late Clarence and Ruth Kemnitz. David attended Beloit Memorial High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy from 1960-1964. He was proud to have served during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Following his military service, he built a dedicated career, working for Coca Cola in Janesville, WI, and later for Lorden Distributing, in Rockford, IL until his retirement in 2009. On June 16, 1963, David married the love of his life, LaVonda L. Niman, at First Baptist Church in Beloit, WI she preceded him in death on December 22, 2018. Together, David and LaVonda built a life centered on God, family, love, and lasting memories. Later in life, David reconnected with his first love from High School; he married Barbara Anderson on June 26, 2019.
David was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church for over 50 years.
David will be remembered for his deep love of family, his years of hard work, his great sense of humor- he always had a joke to share- and his love of traveling, exploring new places, and making memories wherever he went. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Barbara; his daughters, Paula (Kevin) Hunt and Melissa (James) Graham; his grandchildren, Jordan Hunt, Connor (Morgan) Hunt, Jeremy (Leslie) Graham, Justin (Danielle) Graham, and LeeAnn (Alec) Mekeel; great-grandchildren; Riley, Weston, Saydie, Emberley, Finley, and Murphy; and his dog, Baby.
He is also survived by Barbara’s children; Shane (MikeTuleja) Anderson, and Todd (Holly Bacon-Riemer) Anderson, and her grandchildren, Drew (Ashley) Anderson, Alexis (Gabby) Hart, and Austin Anderson; great-grandchildren; Baileigh, Axel, Ember, and Marleigh.
A small private family funeral will be held at Brian Mark Funeral Home, Beloit, WI.
