David V. Lathrop

David Vernon Lathrop age 79 of Beloit died Sunday June 18, 2023, at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born January 22, 1944, to the late George and Viola (Phetteplace) Lathrop in Bloomer, WI. He graduated from Orfordville High School, class of 1962. Dave proudly served in the U.S. Air Force from March 8, 1961, until his honorable discharge on March 5, 1965. He married Sandra J. Bronson on August 31, 1963. Early in life, Dave grew up on a farm and worked as a school bus driver. His long and successful career at the Beloit Corp began in 1965. Dave worked hard at the Corp and retired in 2000. In retirement he again drove a school bus. Dave embraced the traditional role of fatherhood, he worked hard to provide for his family. Dave will be remembered for his woodworking skills and many other activities.

He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Sandra Lathrop; his two daughters, Denise (Dale) Pitzen and Cathrine (Lee) Hensel; his granddaughters, Chrisixeon Lathrop and her son Liam, Angela (Shannon) Lupton and their daughter Addie, Courtney (Henry) Bearheart and their children Palin & Nolan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter Karen, and his great grandson, Brennen, his brother Robert Heincig, and his sisters Joan Scoville, Sandria "Sandy" Hauri and Linda Champlin.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beloit Regional Hospice and Beloit Memorial Hospital for the care they gave Dave.

Dave’s Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday June 22, 2023, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME 1000 Inman Parkway with Mark Maxted officiating.  Family will greet friends and relatives on Thursday in the Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Interment and Full Military Burial Rites will follow Dave’s service in Eastlawn Cemetery, Beloit. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
