David Peltier Obituary

David P Peltier, 88, of Beloit, died on Thursday, January 1, 2026, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Janesville, WI 


He was born April 24, 1937, in Amesbury, MA; the son of Roland and Alice (Stone) Peltier. David was a 1955 graduate of Amesbury High School. He married Rosemary Olson in Beloit on February 6, 1958, and they had two children, Camille Peltier-Robson and Scott Peltier. He and Rosmary divorced in 1977, and she died in 2013. 


David was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force, and served as a communications specialist on St Lawrence Island, AK, and Williams Bay AFS, WI from August 1955 until August 1959. 


Upon honorable discharge, he was employed as a bar manager at the Gun Club Restaurant in Beloit for 15 years. He then graduated from Blackhawk Technical College and became Director of Export and Government Sales for the Broaster Co. in Beloit, where he traveled the world extensively for 24 years before retiring in 2002. 


Peltier was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed playing golf, softball, racquetball and fishing. In addition, he was community-minded and served on many boards, including the SC World Trade Association, the Salvation Army, Meals-on-Wheels, Beloit Ambassadors, and Voluntary Action Center. He had 50 plus years of perfect attendance with the Beloit Noon Lions, holding many positions on the local and district levels including club president on three different occasions. He loved his family very much, as well as music and scrapbooking, plus playing poker with friends. He was a people-person, had a quick sense of wit, and enjoyed making people laugh. 


Survivors include the love of his life for more than 30 years, Phyllis Meyer, his daughter Camille (Mark) and son Scott (Susie), a sister Suzanne Scaglione (Toney); four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews in the New England area. He was preceded in death by his parents. 


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am Friday, January 9, 2026, Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church (Queen of Martyrs Pastorate) 2222 Shopiere Road, Beloit, Wi 53511. A Visitation of Remembrance will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, January 8, 2026, in the Brian Mark Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit WI as well as from 945-1045 am on Friday prior to Mass on Friday at the church. Burial will be in Mt. Thabor Cemetery.
