David “Dave” C. Huyck, 66 of Beloit passed away on June 10, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on February 18, 1960 to the late William and Shirley (Fuller) Huyck. Dave married the love of his life Judy May on December 13, 2019 after 12 years together. Dave was the current owner and operator of Dave’s Bait & Tackle, which is the only shop in the Beloit area. 

Dave was an outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. One of his biggest joys in life was going out on his pontoon boat on Saturdays. Being on the water was where he felt the most at peace. He was a big fan of all Wisconsin sports teams; Packers, Brewers, Bucks, and Badgers. Dave never had kids of his own, but he loved kids, and was considered quite a people person. He cherished the relationships he had with his loyal customers at the bait shop. He also loved his “Fur-Babies” but above all he enjoyed the time he got to spend with his family and close friends. 

Survivors include his wife, Judy Huyck, his siblings;  Rena (Tim) Elliott, Leonard Huyck, brothers-in-law, Jim May, Jerry (Judy) May, sisters-in-law, Bev Oestreich, Joyce May, Diane May, special friends; Kenny Clifton, Larry Keith, Jim Lamb, Chuck Hill, his “Fur-Babies”; Sonny, Pumpkin, April, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Dave is preceded in death by his parents, William and Shirley, grandparents; Lawrence and Laura Huyck, Lloyd and Hazel Fuller, brother, Richard Huyck, brother-in-law, Bill May and his “Fur-Babies”; Lambeau, Chip, and Daisy.

The family would like to thank Beloit Regional Hospice and Dr. Christel Tecarro and staff for the care and support given to Dave. “We are truly grateful.”
