Derek Maxted

Derek Maxted, age 45, of Beloit died Friday June 16, 2023, at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee. He was born December 1, 1977, to the Dean and Darnise (Porter) Maxted in Beloit. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1995. Derek played ice hockey for the Beloit Blades for many years and served as his high school football team manager. Derek enjoyed volunteerism and embraced the idea of helping others.  He enjoyed collecting superhero action figures. Derek will be remembered for his love for pizza and scrambled egg & bologna toast sandwiches.

He is survived by his father, Dean (Karen) Maxted; his brother D.J. (Megan) Maxted; his stepbrother, Brad Slawson; his stepfather, Tom Machen; his three aunts, Debra (Larry) Ramsey, Doreen Maxted and Diane Shaw; his uncle Doug Maxted; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Darnise, his aunt DeAnne, his uncle Michael “Dog” Porter and his two step sisters, Sara & Heather Slawson.

Derek’s Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. on Monday June 26, 2023, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME 1000 Inman Parkway with Mark Maxted officiating.  Family will greet friends and relatives on Monday in the Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be private. A memorial fund has been established in his name.  Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
