Dolores Aarud Obituary

Dolores Jean Aarud went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 24, 2024 at Cedar Crest in Janesville, WI. She was born July 17, 1933 to Clarence & Laura (Voelz) Krebs in Beloit. Dolores graduated from Clinton High School, Class of 1951. She married Raymond O. Aarud on September 20, 1953 at Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, in Clinton, WI.  He preceded her in death on June 5, 2011. Dolores was a life-long member of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, the Women’s Society of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church, and the Clinton Community Historical Society. In her younger years, Dolores worked as a bookkeeper at the Beloit Iron Works until she had children and then embraced her role as a homemaker. She and Ray farmed in Clinton for over 35 years. After raising her children, she went back to work for Dr. Johns Optometry in Beloit, WI. She was also a 4-H Leader for Clinton 4-H throughout her life. She enjoyed attending the 2nd Indianhead Division reunions with Ray. Dolores never missed any of her kids and grandkids school and sporting events.  

Dolores is survived by her two children, Curtis (Barbara) Aarud, and Cheryl Aarud, her three grandchildren, Jason (Meredith) Aarud, Stacy (Jared) Matuseski, and Tami (Dan) Funke; her great grandchildren, Evan Aarud, Madison Matuseski, Brody Funke and Oliver Matuseski; her nephew, Larry (Denise) London and many friends and neighbors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ray, her sister, Elaine (George) London and her nephew, Terry London.

The family would like to thank the staff at Cedar Crest for the care they gave Dolores.

Dolores’ Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 29, 2024 in the CHRIST EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 300 High Street, Clinton, WI  with Rev. Andrew M. Harris officiating. The visitation will be Wednesday in Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment to follow the service at the Clinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be made to Christ Ev. Lutheran Church or Clinton Community Historical Society. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
