Donald E. Engen Beloit Donald E. Engen, 75 of Beloit, WI, died Saturday, November 3, 2012, in Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 7, 1937 in Beloit, WI, the son of Edwin O. and Gertrude Pelton Engen. He was a 1955 graduate of Beloit Memorial High School. Don was a member of the National Guard and later was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army. Don married Lois Bartram on October 14, 1956 in Westside Presbyterian Church. He was employed with Forte Automation as a Drafting Engineer retiring in 2000. Don was a member of the South Beloit American Legion Post # 288, and Sun Valley Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Beloit Evening Kiwanis Club and the Beloit Eagles Club. He especially enjoyed his grandchildren, woodworking, fishing in Canada, traveling and camping. Don is survived by his wife of 56 years, Lois; four children, Cindy (Mark) Kepler of Beloit, WI, Theresa (Bennie "Sam") Smith of Glennville, GA, Charles (Lori) Engen of Beloit, WI and Denise (Dan) Oehlke of Roscoe, IL; 21 Grandchildren, 16 Great grandchildren, one Great Great Grandchild and 16 Step Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Whalen of Loves Park, IL, Beverly (Donald) Johnson of Winter Garden, FL and Virginia Madru of Roscoe, IL; several nieces and nephews and special friends. Don’s favorite saying was "I LOVE YOU MORE". He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Stephanie Heiston. A Celebration of Don’s Life will be 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 8, 2012, in Sun Valley Presbyterian Church, 1650 Sun Valley Drive, Beloit, WI with the Reverend David Ewing officiating. Interment will be in Eastlawn Cemetery, Beloit. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2012, in the BRIAN MARK Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service in the Church on Thursday.
