Donald P. “Don” Graybill, age 100, of Beloit, Wisconsin died Sunday December 31, 2023, at Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born September 22,1923 to Donald R. and Stata (Powell) Graybill in Freeport, IL. Don graduated from Beloit Memorial High School, class of 1941. He served in the U.S. Army Airforce from March of 1943 until his honorable discharge in February of 1946. Don Married Arlene Waldsmith on October 4, 1947, at the First United Methodist Church in Beloit, WI. She preceded him in death on October 5, 2014. Don worked as a salesman for over 40 years at Bud Weiser Motors, retiring in 1995. He was a member of River of Life United Methodist Church, the Beloit Elks Club and the Morning Star Lodge #10 F. & A.M. Don enjoyed dancing, singing, music, golf, traveling with Arlene, especially to Phoenix, AZ where they enjoyed many winters. He will be remembered as a kind, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.
He is survived by his son Steven (Maureen) Graybill of LaValle, WI; his daughter Cynthia (James) Peckenpaugh of Eagle River, WI, two grandchildren, Ashley (Jason) Akins and Lauren (Will) Hart; his loving friend, Betty Johnson and many friends and neighbors.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister, Justine Utynek.
Don’s Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday January 6, 2024, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday in the Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service. Following the service, the cortege will process to Eastlawn Cemetery for interment & Full Military Burial Rites. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
