Donna Kitzman Obituary

Donna Jean Kitzman, 98, of Clinton, WI, died in Christ on July 4, 2024 at Riverside Terrace in Beloit.  Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Donna.

She was born March 29, 1926 to Nora (Teeple) and Henry Knopp at the Teeple homestead in Alden Township, IL.  Donna was baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit on July 20, 1928.  She confessed her faith in the rite of Confirmation on June 26, 1945 and was admitted to the altar to receive the precious gift of the Lord’s life-giving body and blood.  Donna graduated from Sharon High School in 1944.  She was joined together in holy matrimony to Glen Kitzman on September 29, 1945 at Zion Ev. Lutheran Church in Sharon.  Following her marriage, she worked at the Borg Corporation in Delavan for several years.  For the next 44 years, she joined her husband in the operation of their family farm in Clinton, raising beef cattle, corn and soybeans.  Donna also ran an egg delivery route for many years.  She lived in her beloved farmhouse for over 70 years.

Donna was a longtime and active member of Christ Ev. Lutheran Church.  She taught Sunday School for many years, was a 64-year member of the Ladies Aid and Mission Society and served as chair of the Funeral Luncheon Committee.  Donna was secretary of the Planning Commission of Clinton Township and served as a poll worker for many years.  She was a member of the Clinton Historical Society and the Lakeshore Homemakers Club.  Donna enjoyed gardening, baking, playing cards and traveling throughout the United States, Europe, South America and the Caribbean.

God blessed Donna with a holy death and took her to rest in the arms of Jesus to await the resurrection of the dead.  Donna is survived by her two sons, Steven and Timothy, three grandchildren, Brian, Bethany (Adam) and Bryce, sister-in-law Mary Ann, daughter-in-law Valarie and many beloved nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glen, son Larry, four sisters, Ona, Cherrie, Jewel and Bonnie and her brother Clifton.

The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Riverside Terrace and Beloit Regional Hospice for the compassionate care given to Donna.  They would also like to extend their appreciation to her primary care physician, Dr. Tejesh Patel, for the excellent care he provided her over the past 23 years.

Donna’s Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at CHRIST EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 300 HIGH STREET, CLINTON, WI with Pastor Andrew Harris officiation.  Friends will be received on Saturday in the Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.  A luncheon will follow immediately after the service.  Burial will be in the Richmond Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Christ Ev.
