Dorothy M. Danner

Dorothy M. Danner, age 88, of Beloit died Tuesday November 14, 2023, at Fair Oaks Nursing Home in South Beloit, IL. She was born September 29, 1935, to William and Mamie (Shell) Schultz in Beloit, WI.

Dorothy married Robert R. Danner at St. Jude Catholic Church in 1952. She worked for Beloit Memorial Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, where she spent many hours volunteering.

Dorothy was a loving wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma, who adored her family. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dorothy enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with family on camping, fishing, and biking trips. She was known to be a caretaker for those around her. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her two children, Michael (Becky) Danner of Davenport, Iowa, and Jackie (Gary) Miedema of Beloit; grandchildren, Brian (Heather) Danner, Jenny Danner (fiancé Matt), Charity (Kevin) Humphreys, & Jason (Diana) Miedema; great-grandchildren, Clayton, Leighanne, Myles, Amelia, Gavin, Kennedy, Mary, Myrna; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 8 siblings.

The family would like to thank the staff at Fair Oaks, Beloit Regional Hospice, and Beloit Memorial Hospital for the care they gave Dorothy. 

Dorothy’s Services will be held privately, at a later date. Her family asks that friends and neighbors say a prayer and light a candle in her honor. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
