Florence M. Porter age 90 of South Beloit died Monday, January 29, 2024, at Fair Oaks Rehab and Health Care Center in South Beloit. She was born May 23, 1933, in South Beloit to Frank and Violet (Johnson) Maxon. She graduated from South Beloit High School, class of 1951. Florence married her loving husband of 70 years, Donald Porter, in July of 1953, in Beloit. Florence was a devoted member of the Redeemer Evangelical Covenant Church.
Florence loved baking for her grandchildren and the members of her church. She enjoyed puzzles and spending time reading; she was known to pick up a variety of books from her local library to enjoy. Florence played golf, enjoyed traveling, and had a talent for ceramics. Florence will be remembered for her baked goods- especially her cookies.
She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter Susan (Brad) Dillet; son Marc (Lynette) Porter; grandchildren Erika (Andy) and Chad (Molly); great-grandchild Rhett; brother-in-law Clarence, and many beloved nieces, nephew, family, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Betty.

Florence’s Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Pastor Chris Carlson officiating. Friends and family will be received in the Funeral Home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow at Floral Lawn Cemetery Chapel in South Beloit. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
