Gerald "Jerry" R. Savage Sr. age 78 of Clinton & Bagley, WI died Thursday October 27, 2022 in his home of 52 years. Jerry was born to the late William and Rose (Lavine) Savage in Escanaba, MI, on November 4, 1943. He was one of thirteen siblings and grew up in the Schafer/Bark River, MI area. Jerry attended Bark River High School. He married Joan Battles on July 20, 1963 in Rockford, IL. Jerry & Joan established Sharon Screw Products in 1974 in Rockford, IL, and owned and operated the business until his retirement in 2008. He was an innovative machinist who could design and fix just about anything. His handshake and his word meant as much as a signed contract. He enjoyed time at their cabin, hiking in the woods with his dog, arm wrestling, making maple syrup, flying his airplane and riding dirt bikes. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his Grand and Great Grandchildren. Jerry will be remembered by many as "The toughest man they have ever known".
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Joan Savage; his three children, Jerry (Alicia) Savage Jr. of Anderson, IN; Linda (Tony) Ross of Beloit, WI; & Tammy (Ray) Van Pamel of Bagley, WI; six grandchildren, Madison, Riley, Jack, Fisher, Jenner, Kacee (Samantha); three great grandchildren, Asher, Elanore & Arlen; his brother, Kenneth Savage of Kingsford, MI; his sisters, Marilyn Lee of Greenfield, WI; and Joanne Chenier of Escanaba, MI; a special brother-in-law Bill Battles; and many nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Robert, Donald, Bradley, & Lloyd; and his sisters, Elaine, Nancy, Joyce, Janice & Diane.
