John O. Heinze, age 83 of Beloit, died Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit. He was born March 4, 1941 to H. Louis and Eleanor (Traynor) Heinze in Beloit, WI. He graduated from Beloit Memorial High School in Beloit 1959. He went on to attend college at Ole Miss and UW- Madison, where he studied Political Science. John married Kendra Mott on March 25, 1966 in Beloit and recently celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. They were the first couple to be married at the River of Life Church in Beloit. John & Kendra met at Kendra’s sister’s wedding rehearsal dinner on November 12, 1965.
John worked as a tool designer for Regal Beloit and North American, until his retirement in 2004. He was known for his love of all music and western TV and movies. John and Kendra enjoyed spending their winters in Arizona, in the years following their retirement, where they spent time at the dinner theater and listening to local music. They enjoyed the weather and a little time at the casino, while down south.
John is survived by his loving wife of 58, Kendra, his children Jason (Laurie) and Sarah Jane Wells; granddaughters Gabrielle (Ryan) Bjelland and Elizabeth Heinze; first great-grandson, Palmer Ryan Bjelland; his brother Gary (Debbie), nieces, nephews, beloved family, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sisters Kathryn Traynor and Lou Ellen Graham.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Apple at Beloit Memorial Hospital for the special care and kindness she gave John.
John’s Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024 in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Friends will be received in the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private family burial at Rockton Cemetery, Rockton IL. “Casual dress is requested” In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Beloit Regional Hospice or St. Jude Hospital. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
