Joyce D. Nelson

Joyce D. Nelson, age 81 of Beloit died on Monday, October 1, 2018 at Sun Valley Terrace. She was born June 16, 1937 the daughter of Roy and Lola (Alexander) Austin in Pekin, IL.  Joyce married Roger Nelson on January 5, 1957 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Beloit.  She enjoyed antiques, cooking and baking, quilting, stained glass, rosemaling, birds and raising Samoyed dogs.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; her five children, Jim (Brenda) Nelson, Tammy (Gerald) Geister, Sandy (Linda) Nelson, Cheryl (Steven) Matthews and Shawn Webster, 13 grand children, 21 great grandchildren, one brother, Leroy Harris and her dearest little fur baby Skippy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Zelvin Mitchell.

Joyce’s Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4, 2018 in the BRIAN G. MARK FUNERAL HOME, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit with Rev. Dennis Roser officiating. Friends will be received on Thursday from Noon until the time of service in the funeral home. The cortege will proceed to Newark Cemetery for interment.
