Juanita Hansen, age 91, of Beloit, WI passed away Saturday September 16, 2023, in her home. She was born on January 20, 1932, in Sparta, WI, Monroe County, the daughter of Robert and Alma (Hanson) Clair.  She married Donald E. Hansen on September 16, 1950, and moved to Beloit, WI shortly after.  He preceded her in death on June 26, 2015.  She worked at the Beloit Iron Works (Beloit Corporation) until moving to Iron River, WI in 1967 to own and operate, along with her husband, the Rustic Roost Motel, Restaurant and Bar.  While in Iron River Nita, as she was called, was very active in the V.F.W. Post #10197 Auxiliary holding all offices including president.  In 1986 she became active in the Rebekah Lodge #192 and held most offices including Noble Grand and Dist #10 president.

Nita loved doing crafts and spent her free time either knitting, crocheting, painting, or working on puzzles.  After retiring she and her husband moved back to Beloit, WI in 2001.  They belonged to Our Master’s Church.  After returning to Beloit, she attended River of Life Methodist Church.

She is survived by two nieces: Linda (Rick) Wells of Beloit, Donna (Marv) Schoen of Beloit and many great and great great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, her only sister, Arlene, stepbrother, Jim June, and niece, Sandra Hansen. 

The family would like to thank Brian Mark for all the help with arrangements and many thanks to Willowick Assisted Living for the special care given in the last few months, along with Promedica Hospice for all the assistance.

Nita and her husband, Don will jointly be interred with a Graveside Service being held on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the WOODLAWN CEMETARY, 875 Water Street, Sparta, WI. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
