Her peaceful passing at home on July 6, 2025, surrounded by the love of her devoted husband Michael, will continue to inspire and uplift us. Judy’s remarkable life of 72 years was testament to her unwavering spirit.
Judy was born on April 29, 1953, in Beloit, Wisconsin. Judy’s arrival was a precious blessing to humanity. Her parents Mary Louise Gyarmaty (Jernberg) and Alex Gyarmaty welcomed her with open hearts joining her two older brothers.
She achieved her graduation in 1971 from Beloit Memorial High School, marking the beginning of her remarkable life journey. After graduating, she embarked on a fulfilling career path with esteemed organizations such as Regal Beloit Corporation, North American Tool Corporation, and Beloit Health System/Beloit Hospital. She retired after serving 18 years in her role as the Lifeline Coordinator with Beloit Health Systems, a journey that brought her immense joy, as she selflessly served over 800 patients, caring for each one with the same unwavering love and devotion she would give to her own family.
Judy married Micheal Simonds on December 19, 1997. They shared 27 incredible years together. Their passion for exploration inspired a lifetime of cherished memories. They became members of the Dubuque Yacht Club, Dubuque Iowa, where their yacht provided endless fun for family and friends. They became lifelong friends with many yacht club members, a testament to the power of connection and community. Judy and Mike enjoyed traveling, including magical moments with visits to Budapest, Hungary to visit her Aunt Kati (Rudi) Borhi, her father’s sister and many other family members. Together they enjoyed rejuvenating escapes to Mexico, Florida, Arizona, Punta Cana and numerous other destinations.
Judy had a gift for bringing people together, hosting gatherings that created lifelong memories for family and friends. Cooking was her joy, and she shared that joy with everyone, spreading love and laughter through every delicious meal.
Blessed with a loving legacy, she leaves behind her loving husband Michael, Sons Jeff (Sandy) Simonds and Jeromey Simonds, her brothers Steve (Helene) Gyarmaty and Alex (Julie) Gyarmaty, 4 grandchildren Ryan, Aaron, Kendall, Malia, nieces and nephews and family.
