Cass Dabson passed away peacefully Friday, May 23rd, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Cass was born on December 4, 1960, in Rockford Illinois, and later raised in Shirland, IL by Jack and Helen Gallagher. She graduated from Hononegah High School, Class of 1979. Cass met Pat Dabson in 1992, and they married in 1999. She was the love of his life. Cass chose to love Pat’s daughter Brandi as her own, she was gladly promoted to Grammy in 2016 when Nora was born. Their amazing daughter Mazi was born in 2001, she adored her so very much and was grateful to be able to take a trip to Greece with her, Pat, and their dear friend Heather in 2024. She worked as a teacher’s aide and retired after many years with Hononegah High school

Cass loved to spend time with her family and friends on the boat, by the fire, and poolside. She loved to paint, read, garden, and cook delicious meals to share, usually with a glass of wine.

Cass is survived by her loving husband Pat Dabson; her children, Mazi Dabson and Brandi Dabson; her cherished granddaughter Nora; her siblings, Tom Gallagher, Dan Gallagher, Brian Gallagher, and Julie Gallagher; her loving in-laws, Ann (Dabson) & Len Juneau, Scott & Kristen Dabson, Lori (Dabson) & Jamie Kirby, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Helen Gallagher, her sister Erin Blair, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bob and Phyllis Dabson, and her brother-in-law Mike Dabson.
