Larry “Cannon” Alan Buchanan, age 67, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 27, 2026. He was born in Beloit on July 23, 1958, to George and Eleanor Buchanan. He attended High School at Beloit Memorial. After school he was a sound engineer for many bands. He met and married the love of his life Christine Rozell in Beloit on June 15, 1985.
Larry worked for Lucas Schultz for 30+ years as a contractor. In his later years he drove truck for McFarland Pheasant Farm, retiring in 2021 to take care of his mom.
Larry loved to ride his Harley with his friends and family across the countryside. He enjoyed camping and fishing with his grandchildren. Larry was known as a handy man and always kept busy with miscellaneous jobs whether it be for family, friends, or even strangers. He was a man of his word and never let people down.
Larry is survived by his mom; Eleanor Buchanan, age 103, wife; Christine Rozell Buchanan, two sons; TJ (Brandy) Tarpinian and BJ (Amanda) Buchanan, 8 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandson, sister; Avis (Roger) Rosser, brother; Terry (Heidi) Buchanan, many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Larry is preceded in death by his father; brother in infancy George Alan.
A funeral service will be held at Brian Mark Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, on Friday, April 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM. A visitation will be held on the same day from 11:00 AM until the time of service.
