Lawrence Burton Olson, age 79, of South Beloit, IL died on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at the V. A. Hospital in Madison.. He was born on January 4th, 1941 to the late Peter and Margaret (Terwilleger) Olson in Madison, WI. Larry married the love of his life Reva Kay Hatch on November 17th, 1982. He was a career welder, retiring from Kerry Ingredients in 2001. Larry could often be found gardening at home or at the grounds of Victory Baptist Church. He was always willing to help out, "there wasn't anything he wouldn't do for his family and friends." Larry enjoyed teaching and attending Sunday school and working on the building committee at Church. He loved fishing and was known for his outdoor fish fry's at home that sometimes grew into neighborhood fish fry's! Larry volunteered at the VA and often sold poppy's.
Larry is survived by his wife, Kay; his sons Jeffrey, David, Jerry and Brian Brannon; six grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters and a sister in law.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; his sister; five brothers in law and three sisters in law.
The Olson family would like to thank the staff at the VA Hospital in Madison for the exceptional care they gave Larry during his time of need.
Larry's Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday December 7, 2020 in VICTORY BAPTIST CHURCH, 1850 Townline Road, Beloit. Friends will be received on Monday in the Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial & full military burial rites will follow at Floral Lawn Cemetery.
