Lois M. Walker

Lois Maxine Walker, 97, of Beloit, Wisconsin, and formerly of Marmaduke, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 21, 2022, at her residence. She was born on December 8, 1924, in Beech Grove, Arkansas, to the late John and Janie McGowan Edrington. Lois’ greatest love was her family and was proud of being a wonderful wife, devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, working in her flowers, and birdwatching. She also loved traveling; one of her favorite trips being a trip to Alaska with Berlyn, Diane, and Grandma Phillips.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Henry Walker; one daughter, Brenda Scorfina, one son, Douglas Walker; brothers, Owen Edrington and Ralph Edrington, sons-in-law, Henry Melton, Curtis Dwyer, and Anthony Scorfina; and one grandson, Blake Howerton.

She is survived by her children, Berlyn (Diane) Walker of Beloit, Wisconsin, Barbara Dwyer of Paragould, Garry (Debra) Walker of Fayetteville, and Tamra (Melvin) Wells of Beloit, Wisconsin; daughter-in-law, Pamela Walker of Beloit, Wisconsin; twenty-three grandchildren; sixty great-grandchildren; seventeen great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Pearline (Bill) Wood of Paragould; special cousin, Joann Douglas; her beloved church family at New Liberty Baptist Church, along with a host of other special relatives and friends.

The family would like to say “thank you” to the staff at Agrace Hospice Care in Janesville for the wonderful care they gave Lois, and Pastor Chris for his spiritual support, friendship, and prayers.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Mitchell Funeral Home Temporary Chapel, 2300 North 12th Avenue Paragould, Arkansas, 72450. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Greene County Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial be made to New Liberty Baptist Church, 1799 Greene 515 Road Marmaduke, Arkansas, 72443, or Agrace Hospice Care, 2901 North Wright Road Janesville, Wisconsin, 53545.
