Marian J. Tilleson

Marian J. Tilleson, age 94 of Evansville and formerly of Beloit, WI, died Saturday March 6, 2021 at Evansville Manor. She was born in Eau Claire, WI on February 20, 1927 to the late Hjalmer and Lillian (Konkey) Halverson of Elk Mound, WI. Marian was a 1945 graduate of Elk Mound High School. She attended St. Olaf College, Augsburg University and the Deaconess College of Nursing and graduated with a degree in nursing. Marian married Paul E. Tilleson on August 28, 1949 at Barum Lutheran Church in Elk Mound, WI. Marion and Paul were long time school mates and high school sweethearts. They were married for 57 years. Paul preceded her in death on August 31, 2006.

She was a member of Luther Valley Church, Beloit, WI. Marian worked as a registered nurse at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Fort Atkinson Hospital and the Beloit Hospital and retired after 40 years of nursing. She liked gathering with her nursing peers after retirement.  Marian and Paul rejoiced in their Lutheran Ministry at Cedar Crest, tending to the residents. She was an avid reader and enjoyed singing in the church choir.

Marian is survived by her son Frank Tilleson of Orfordville, WI; her two grandsons, Evan (Tina) Tilleson and their daughter, Alyna of Milton, WI; and Aaron (Kristen) Tilleson and their two children, Harrison & Evelyn of Janesville, WI.

She was predeceased by her parents, her infant brother, Douglas Halverson, her daughter, Carla Tilleson, her sister, Addelle (Karl) Dahlen and her nephew, James Dahlen.

Marian's Private Family Service and visitation will be Wednesday March 10, 2021 in the BRIAN MARK Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI with the Reverend Lucy Wynard of St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating.  Interment will be in Luther Valley Cemetery, rural Beloit.  Memorials may be given in Marian’s name to the Diabetes Foundation.  Please share a memory or a condolence with the Tilleson family on our website.
