Mark Thor Hofstrom, age 63, of Rockton, Illinois died Friday, October 28, 2022 in Shopiere, WI. He was born October 9, 1959 to Juanita (Larson) Hofstrom and the late Norman Thor Hofstrom in Beloit, Wisconsin. Mark graduated from Clinton High School, class of 1978, where he played football and participated in the band.
He was employed by Axium Foods in South Beloit as a logistics manager. Mark was a problem-solver, a mechanically adept and dependable worker. He always looked for solutions to assist the business – whether it was the optimum route to achieve just-in-time delivery or the most efficient way to produce products. Mark saw the big picture – how all the parts of the business were connected. This gave him the insight to provide constructive recommendations. Mark’s time on the farm in his youth gave him a strong work ethic and helped him develop his problem solving skills.
Mark was a talented musician and singer, he performed in many different bands, two being Roaring Thunder and Kranker. In his later years, he received accolades for his karaoke performances in local establishments. Mark could find a song appropriate for every occasion and he possessed the stage presence and showmanship that would capture an audience.
He is survived by his mother, Juanita Hofstrom, two sisters, Michele (Phil Maksymonko) Randall and Melanie (Greg) Waite, nephew, Phillip Waite; niece JoAnna (Brandan Noack) Waite, and great nephew Bryson Noack.
Mark was preceded in death by his wife Judy, his father Norman Hofstrom, his brother Matthew David Hofstrom, and an infant sister Mary Beth.
Mark will be cremated and a time to celebrate & honor his life will follow at a later date. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared on our website.
