Martha L. Sors

Martha Louise Sors, age 79 of Beloit, WI. passed away Monday January 20, 2020 after fighting a long illness with her loving sons at her side.  She was born October 13, 1940 in Beloit, WI; daughter to Jessie LuCille and Charles Harmon “Bud” Wright.  Born and raised in Beloit, she was a graduate of Beloit Memorial High School Class of 1958 and went on to graduate as an RN from the Oak Park Hospital School of Nursing in 1961.

Martha married the love of her life, High School Sweetheart James William Sors on September 30, 1961 at Second Congregational Church in Beloit.  Martha returned to work after the birth of her sons Jeffrey Paul, and Timothy James in 1973, and was the Director of Nursing for the Beloit Convalescent Center, and most recently at Beloit Memorial Hospital as an RN with Special Care specializing in Oncology until her retirement in 2002.

Martha is survived by sons Jeffrey; Timothy (Cathleen) grandsons Ryan Earl Fuller, William Colby Lee Sors, Great Grandchildren Aiden Gabriel Fuller, and Scarlett Grace Fuller; her sister MaryAnn (James) Carrier of Bay City, MI; Sister-in-Law Donna Sors, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.  Martha was preceded in death by her parents, and husband James William Sors.

Martha's Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2020 in the BRIAN G. MARK FUNERAL HOME 1000 Inman Parkway with Mark Maxted officiating.  Family will greet friends and relatives on Saturday in the Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts and donations may be given in her name to the American Lung Association.  Please share a memory or a condolence with the Sors family on our website.
