Mary Jean Rogers, age 82 of Rockford, Illinois passed away Friday, January 10, 2025, in her daughter's home. Born December 25, 1942, in Beloit Wisconsin to Paul and Dolores (Royce) Grossenbacher. A graduate of Clinton High school, class of 1960, where she then went on to receive her degree in Nursing from Freeport Memorial School of Nursing. Married Elmer D. Rogers on October 17, 1964. Mary worked as a registered nurse at Walter Lawson Children' s Home for 42 years caring for all the children there like they were her own, until her retirement. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and spending time with her closest friend group, better known as the "six pack".

Survivors include daughters, Jacquie (John) Vallance, Joelle (Bruce) Sumpter, and son, Jayson Rogers. Grandchildren, Matilda Sumpter, Tommy, Mason and Rachel Vallance; one great grandchild, Alex Vallance; one sister Janet Lubow; special “adopted” sons Dayne Rogers and Leslie Rogers; her beloved "fur baby" Bentley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband, "fur baby" Patty and her longtime special friend and classmate, Caren Peters.

Mary' s Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 25, 2025, in the BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOME, 504 Milwaukee Road, Clinton, Wisconsin with Pastor Eric Lemonholm officiating. Friends will be received on Saturday in the Funeral Home 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial to follow the service in the Clinton Cemetery.
