Matthew "Matt" David Coyne

Matthew "Matt" D. Coyne, age 51 of Byron, IL died on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. He was born on April 11, 1975, to David Coyne & Juanita (Hitchcock) Coyne in Rockford, IL. 

Matt graduated from Byron High School. Following, Matt attended Rock Valley College, where he earned a certificate from the Automotive Program. Matt worked as a mechanic for 20+ years locally and eventually went on to own his own business, Coyne’s Automotive. 

Matt enjoyed spending time with his family & friends, traveling, camping, going out on the pontoon, fishing, golfing, riding his motorcycle, working on cars, and watching sports games. 

He is survived by his two children Morgan (Wyatt Egan) Coyne and Sydney Coyne; mother, Juanita Coyne; brothers, Larry (Tracy) Coyne and Jason (Mandy) Coyne; stepmother, Nancy Coyne; two step siblings, Amy Wright and Brent Wright and further survived by nieces, nephews, and other family. 

He was preceded in death by his father David Coyne and his brother Brian Coyne. 

Matthew’s memorial service will be held on September 4, 2026, beginning with a visitation from 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a memorial service following at 7:00pm at Brian Mark Funeral Home, 1000 E Inman Parkway Beloit, WI 53511.
