Michael K. Hall age 74 of Rockton, IL died Monday January 16, 2023, at the VA Hospital in Madison. He was born March 12, 1948, to the late Charles and Lucy (Arnone) Hall in Kansas City, MO. Mike attended Reynoldsburg High School, class of 1966. He also attended Rock Valley for two years. Mike enlisted into the U.S. Army on April 29, 1967 and served his Country until his honorable discharge on January 28, 1970. During Mike’s service in Vietnam, he earned two Purple Hearts and the Army Commendation medal with the Valor device. Mike married Joann M. Reichenbach on September 8, 1973, in Rockford, IL. He worked as a chef, butcher, truck driver and a dispatcher before his retirement. Mike loved the kitchen and especially loved to smoke meats in his numerous smokers. He won many awards with his BBQ skills and elevated the Beloit Ribfest as he won 1st place three separate times and was almost always on the podium. Mike also enjoyed traveling, cars and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Joann Hall; his three children, Todd Hall, Amy Hall and her two children, Madison (Cole) Dillenburg and Lainey Coletta and Nicholas (Evelyn) Hall and their three children, Jocelyn, Ayden and Jaxxon; his sister Linda (Pat) VanBarriger and their two children, Kurt & Kevin; and his nephew, Charlie (Sandy) Arnone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Uncle Frank & Aunt Lucille and his two beloved dogs, Belle & Abigail.

On Sunday January 29, 2023, please join the family at 1:00 p.m. to celebrate and honor Mikes life at the American Legion Post 332, 221 W. Main Street, Rockton, IL with Chaplain Mark Maxted officiating. Full Military Honors will be follow the service in the parking lot. Food & fellowship will follow the honor guard.
