Nick E Schwegler Obituary

Nick E. Schwegler, 88 of Roscoe, IL passed away on June 3, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 21, 1937 in Janesville, WI to the late Walter and Lillis (St. John) Schwegler. Nick served his country with the United States Navy, and was honorably discharged in July of 1959. He spent most of his career with Rockford Tool Craft as a toolmaker. Nick married the mother of his children; Janet Wilmot on April 15, 1959. She preceded him in death on March 26, 2014. Nick found love again with Barbara Schneider and they spent 11 wonderful years together.


Nick was a loyal member of the Blue Ribbon Classic & Coachman Car Club, and was an honorary Masonic Mason. He loved Harley Davidson Motorcycles, traveling in his 38 Chevy, fishing, and in his younger years he enjoyed coaching his son’s baseball teams. Above all, Nick loved the time he spent making memories with his family and friends.


Survivors include his significant other, Barbara Schneider, his sons; Walter (Vicki) Schwegler, Terry (Sami Workinger) Schwegler, Kurt (Moralyn) Schwegler, grandchildren; Matthew (Jennifer), Mandi (Tara), Ryan (Mallory), Lindsay (Zach), Erik (Liz), Kara, Tatum, great-grandchildren; Lennon, Maeve, Everett, Dottie, Bennett, Brooks, Auden, Renley, Asher, Madynn, sisters, Jean (Lee) Butler, Nancy (Jerry) Steffenson, sister-in-law and best friend, Jeanie Van Der Kooi. He is preceded in death by his wife, Janet Schwegler, and his parents. 


A memorial service will take place on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at 1PM at Brian Mark Funeral Home- Beloit. A visitation will take place at the funeral home from 11AM until the time of service. Inurnment will take place following the service at Shopiere Cemetery with a luncheon to follow back at the funeral home. The family is being assisted by ROSMAN & BRIAN MARK FUNERAL HOMES.
