Robert D. Garetson, 88, of Beloit passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at his home surrounded by loved ones. 

He was born August 19, 1937, in Beloit, WI; the son of the late Alga and Esther (Allen) Garetson. Robert worked as a wheel maker at Gardner Machine Company for over 40 years. 

On March 19, 1960, Robert married Barbara Franklin, she preceded him in death on November 25, 2016. 

Robert was an avid Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packer fan. He was a car enthusiast and often took his 1964 Chevy to the car shows. Robert also enjoyed going on day trips with his wife. He was a loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed. 

Survivors include his son Jerry (Michele) Garetson; grandchildren, Megan (James) Garetson-Arcos, Christopher (Andrea) Garetson, and Alexis (Kenny) Garetson- Brundage; one great grandchild Aleena and one brother, David (Jolynn) Garetson. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, son, Danny and two brothers, Elwood and Wesley Garetson. 

Funeral services for Robert will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in the Brian Mark Funeral Home, 1000 Inman Parkway, Beloit, WI. A visitation of remembrance will be from 9:30 a.m.until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, IL.
